Angel's Share is extraordinary in the way so many New York bars want to be. First, it is hidden behind a second-floor sushi restaurant. Second, the soft jazz music, the Japanese bartenders dressed in jacket and tie, and the wood-paneled bar with large plate-glass windows facing Stuyvesant Street transport you to another place and time. Cocktails are served with flair, and you might just kick back a Scotch or two and think you are entirely somewhere else. The bar can get crowded but the back lounge, assuming you can get a table, is tranquil and relaxing.
